Is photo.net a reputable site?

Why do you ask?

I am curious about using it as source of info on equipment, technique to improve my ability vision and creativity. Also if the classified ads are reputable?

As far as classified ads go, I don't know.

In terms of photographic info, I've found some good articles.

I've been a member there for a while but never used their classifieds, so I can't vouche for that aspect. The site itself is very reputable and the forums can be informative but not nearly as friendly as DPC. Trevor~

I was browsing through Photo.net and saw how you can rate an image there on two qualities:

Aesthetics [1...7]
Originality [1...7]

I found that interesting, yet do not understand how breaking a single scale into these two would help tremendously.

What do you guys think?:-)

I think it might encourage the voter to examine the image a bit deeper (one would hope they don't need this for that.. but..)..

And, more than anything, I think it would provide more useful data to the photographer who is trying to improve.. Although in that case either you need four or five metrics, or else you're just better off with one simple scale...

You have a point. I just saw this split scale today and immediately DPC came to my mind...
