hello everyone,
I'm suffering serious photo-block and need some inspiration!
I'm doing a City&Guilds photography course on "movement" and I need to get a folio together of 6 pictures with the title "Wheels in Wheels"...
any good ideas or suggestions that could work?
I was thinking of doing one with car wheels where I try and pan a car but not have the whole car in the shot. I also have a high key shot of some tops spinning around which is looking good and I've been playing around with a roulette game which I'm painting with light to get a bit of a moody shot... but that's only 3 out of 6... Help!!

Do you have a bicycle? Put the bike upside down and spin the wheel, maybe you could get something good there. Or how about a fan?

thanks! I like the idea of fan... maybe I can attach some stuff to the cage of the fan so they blow in the wind and float about...
ok so that's 4 out of 6...
Any one with any more...?

After considering the words that you have in quotes, "movement" and "Wheels in Wheels" I thought of a challenge entry on this site in which someone mounted a camera on the side of a car. With the car moving the photog took something like a two second (or so) exposure of the side of the car, the front wheel, and some great colors of either a sunset or nearby neon lights in the background and reflecting off of the car.
The result was a sharp image of the side of the car with the motion blur of the nearby lights and front wheel. It was a great shot but I have no idea how to find it. Maybe my description of the shot and setup will inspire something for you to try.
edit to add...
I found it and another example - - -

wow, these shots are amazing... would love to try it but not sure how to attach the camera to my car...
has given me an idea of doing it on a smaller scale though with the camera mounted on a skate board or something like that. Will need to think and plan this one through but thanks a million for the suggestion!

One of my favourites -
or you could take a less literal approach - maybe some shots of local politics, elections etc if you have any coming up |
