My image was disqualified for the reasons of: You may not use ANY editing tool to create new image area, objects or features (such as lens flare or motion) that didn't already exist in your original capture

First of all there was no lens flare used as filter or motion in the editing of this image; this was the processing that was used: exactly by the book and rules of DPC clone out incidental power lines, twigs, dust specks, stray hairs, and similar minor imperfections.
apply filters, effects, dodge & burn, and other tools to all or part of your entry, but NO new shapes or features may be created in the process.
saturate, desaturate or change the colours of your entry or any existing object within it.
use layers, layer masks, and alternative layer modes.

I don’t know where and who made this decision but there are absolutely wrong on the processing of my image ,the pathetic You may not use ANY editing tool to create new image area, objects or features (such as lens flare or motion) that didn't already exist in your original capture. It’s not good enough and totally wrong, i have provided my original capture as requested by DPC and all you get is the above?? I am sorry but i demand!! More explanation on how and what has made the person/persons responsible for this final decision. I am eagerly awaiting your response and i want you too take this very seriously, from photographers point of view this is insulting and depredating EXPECIALY WHEN I HAVE FOLOWED THE RULES AND SHOWED CREATIVITY IN MY ENTRY . Thank you. Faces

AND this image by Simms wa run under the same rulles in a different challenge( sorry Simms i got my idea from you ,love your work by the way)

and DPC council has not even bothered to realy clerify my disqualification after as advised i send them a email. this is why i post this again .

First off, the example that you gave was under "Expert editing" and the challenge you entered was under "Advanced editing".

And you did add objects and features. I'm guessing you added the rips and tears along with the fangs and teeth decorations.

It is a good shot and under the Expert editing rules it would have been just fine. Sounds like a little mistake in what you thought were the rules and that happens quite often.

So lets see the original then, since you're opening it up to the general population.

Simms' entry was under a completely different ruleset (Expert).

You had TWO Site Council clarifications immediately following your original post. A third SC member pointed to that thread in response to your email, too. You drew in the veins and vampire teeth in Photoshop, and that's not legal under Advanced editing.

5% of your entries have been DQ'd. That's getting out of the negligible range, edging toward significant. It sounds like you need to spend some time to understand the editing rules. There have been a couple of times I was unsure, so I put in a ticket with SC before the challenges, with my photo and editing steps attached. They work hard for their money, and earn every penny of it. ;-)

So you're saying that you actually look like that? You didn't add anything like veins and vampire teeth?

Yikes.... scary thought! Hope you're feeling ok!

Methinks someone deserves an apology....

This is something I don't understand. Why volunteers on a for-profit site?

I'm hoping it will clear up on its own.
