Currently you can only search on date joined and first / last name etc.... It would also be good if you could search on stats like:

- Number of challenge entries
- Average vote received
- Average challenge score
- Number of helpful comments made
- Number of favorites

This would then be almost like a global leaderboard, we could find out exactly where we fit in terms of being in the top x% of average scores or discovering that we've made the least / most helpful comments. This might encourage voting (been reading the other threads), to motivate people to climb the leaderboard of helpful comments means that you have to give a lot of well thoughtout comments for instance.

It should be fairly easy to implement as part of the existing profile search. Perhaps when viewing the results you could customise the columns of the results table to include whatever you are interested in and then sort the list by that column in ascending or descending order. You could then instantly see the highest and lowest vote received average and where you fit in the table. I know for me, pushing to be in the top 1000/ 500 / 100 / 10 helpful comments for instance would be a real challenge in itself.

Very good idea Spencer, Have you suggested it to the SC's?

You can do so by clicking here

I proposed something quite similar 1 1/2 years ago... :-)

There are so many threads going about "Why people dont vote" and one I was just reading about only the "Cool people are voting", having a global leaderboard like this to rank by the most helpful votes would be a real incentive.

What was the outcome of your proposal? I was just reading through it and it sounds more like a comparison between two or more people rather than just a sorted table like I have suggested

No feedback from anyone at DPChallenge, but that's kind of the way it works with website suggestions; toss it in the hamper and wait for it to get pulled out when Langdon has time for website upgrades.

As for the idea, it was simply to add some additional columns to an existing DPChallenge page - Photographer Profiles.

Add 'sort by' ability to various columns and you could see how DPC'rs stack up in various ways (high -> low, low -> high).

It was all laid out in the first post of the thread linked earlier here.

The ideas sound pretty similar. I'm suprised it wasn't one of the first things ever done. To find out who has the highest average vote received spanning all challenges amongst other things is something I would have thought people would be really interested in. Its all very well winning ribbons in isolated challenges, but who is the ultimate photographer?
