When you see graffiti, what do you feel? Does it inspire or annoy you?

i love graffiti...this is the old Texan theatre in Athens, TX (about to be torn down):

There are some cool graffiti areas in my little town as well; I was inspired to do portraits of my son last year:

These are great. Thank you for sharing them. If you have time, take a look at //www.banksy.co.uk - he will, I'm sure, be appearing in a town near you soon!

Yep, he's got some incredible work...I've always been an admirer. Thanks for reminding us of the link! :)

I don’t think that it really inspired me. It was interesting to see how much time someone would spend. The where cells that had been covered in stamped art. To put that much effort into it seemed a little odd to me. I’ll try to find a picture of one later.

I like most of the grafitti I see, unless it is just a quick scribbled nick. It is one of the subjects I want to shoot more in 2007. More of it should be photographed and shared before it is gone again.

Brilliant pics - thank you. I understand the concern of losing stuff - just see my 'Hand of God' painted over!

I love graffiti, the more colorful the better. All these were taken this past summer in Amsterdam

Some graffiti is really beautiful, but there's also so much crap. I think they should have competitions to do really nice walls so graffiti artists would have a goal and feel protective of their work after it's done rather than tagging everything, even already painted surfaces, left and right.

Unfortunately most graffiti that I see is piss-poor tagging, with zero value artistic or otherwise, just some brainless oick acting like a cat spraying their "territory".

The original photo was pretty dull and did poorly in a challenge. I liked the effect produced by enlarging the graffiti and turning the image into digital art.
