Hello everybody,

I need a little help from my friends...

One of my photos I'd like to give to my parents for Christmas, so I'd like the best processing/post editing I can get. The problem is that I don't have any fancy software - I use Picasa - so I'm very limited as to how/what I'm able to do. For starters, I think the shot would look better with the bird removed so it doesn't look like it's on my nephew's head!!! Any other ideas would be welcome.

My edited version is on my portfolio and I'm trying to figure out how to attach the original photo to this thread (without much success), but I'm still trying to learn the ins and outs of DPC and I haven't mastered that yet!

Thanks to greatandsmall for her help with explaining how to post pictures on a thread - thanks Roxanne!

Any suggestions would be fantastic! You can either post them here on this thread or email me comments/questions/private message at sweetmissbehaving@gmail.com. I'll be glad to send anyone the original to play with via email if you contact me with the interest.

Thanks a bunch!!!!
Marjorie

you have to use the [ thumb] code.... but you might not have closed one or something.

ANd those don't seem to be the images you are talking about? But they are the numbers you listed

Are these the shots you are talking about?

If so, this is the code you need to use to post the pictures (minus the spaces)

[ thumb]425347[/thumb ]

[ thumb]415539[/thumb ]

Yes!!! Thanks, tryals15, those are them! What was I doing wrong? I had the file numbers as 425347 and 415539. Do I need to add something else to that in the URL box?

The best way to get rid of the bird would be with a program that has a clone tool. The best one would be Adobe Photoshop, but it is very expensive. Since the bird is on an area with little detail it shouldn't be too difficult to clone out.

You could download a free trial of Corel Paint Shop Pro, the trial lets you save unlike Photoshop. You could also download The GIMP, which is a free photo editing program. There is even a hack of it called GIMPshop, which tries to make the interface more like Photoshop.

Did you click "Insert Thumnail Link to Site Image?" It is the second one from the right. Then insert just the image id number.

It looks like you missed the 4's in the front...

Yes, I did that, but I think tryals15 is right. Let's see...

Yeah!!!!! Thanks guys!

Now...does anyone want to take a stab at "fixing" the image and shoot it to me?

I think this one is fabulous! I did some simple 20-second spot edits in the GIMP, a free photo editing tool.
