Outtakes

Only the last one did I ever contemplate entering but the other two I thought were just some pretty funny captures.

I was going to enter THIS or THIS ONE but ended up entering nothing.

More choices for entries HERE from the Kenya 2006 DPC GTG.

I had lots of outtakes, all of which would have done better than the one I entered...

chispa these are very appealing shots. Sharon Stone! I really like what you've done. P.S. She is lovely.

Not really an outake...just the original that I processed my entry from.

Most of the comments I got on my entry suggested that the lighthouse was too small in the frame. That was the point of the photograph to show how small the lighthouse in compared to it's environment, an environmental portrait of a lighthouse if you will. I am sure this more standard outtake would have received a higher vote but I don't find it nearly as interesting. The lighting was a little better in this one though...

All exquisite photos. This one is my fave

If it was ok to clone out the shadow of the duck. I'd give it a perfect 10.

and the one I wish I now entered!

Do you agree?

The biggest problem my entry had was the pixel limit!

Thank you too all who commented and expressed that you felt the entry should have done better.

Although, I feel it was a fair score. I understand that some of the over-exposed highlights and blur were detracting (especially with regards to the hands). I tried to reduce this in the second image. But there really wasn't much I could do.

This was a live show by a gothic celtic christian band in a club setting, the light was atrocious at best. And for the conditions I believe it to be a superb capture.

I am glad many enjoyed. Here is another shot I considered entering. I really love the capture but felt the subject might not go over all to well with the DPC crowd so I went with a more conservative entry.

Would love to know what people thought about this one?

alexsaberi - what Tim said - I loved the power of your entry - you can hear that guy! But the rest are pretty darn awesome. Think you can loan me one or two for the next one? (j/k, SC!)

Tim, the one you entered is the most DPC friendly - I like the humorous shots better, though, because they've got more character.

And Saj, motion blur would be expected in that shot - I really think you did a fine job with it.

My non-entry:

It already had over 100 views when I thought about using it, though.

My image scored 5.4 on this and placed in the middle:

With the comments I was receiving (all positive and the average score I received with the comments was 7) I was hoping this shot would score higher. What held this picture back from rating higher?

I'm pretty sure any of the outtakes would've scored higher, but I really liked my entry as I thought the scene was unique. I dont see clouds from sea level normally.
