So some of us take them and some of us want to. But what does yours look like?

Mine are much worse than yours, Jen...

Forgive the crappy, dusty scans...but what a walk down memory lane. ;)

I think it's a pretty even tie Laurie! :-)

And what's with the poufy feathery things anyways?!? Ours were white. My mom ordered a big one of the poufy feathery thing and still has it hanging on her wall at home to this day. Oh the horror!! :-) Do they still use those?? I'm guessing not, and for good reason. LOL!

Hmmmm, I'll have to see if I can dig out one of the old prom photos. :-)

For a non-American, can you please explain the rationale behind Senior Pictures.

When in your school career are they taken? Last year at school? Are they used in yearbooks? Are they swopped with other kids? Do all kids do them? Or only those with lotsa money? Or lotsa self-confidence?

I'll toss it in here that the Canadian school system is devoid of any references to sophmore, junior, and senior. Not only is the senior photo an unknown idea, the modifier isn't even in the common vernacular. We've got yearbook photos and grad photos. So don't be surprised when the rest of the world raises their eyebrows.

Sounds like the NZ system is similar to the anadian ... although we didn't even have yearbook phtos or grad photos ... so no pics here .. not that I lasted that long anyway :)

Here's a cropped in shot from my senior class picture. thus the bad quality. had to crop alot. but I think the angst shines through. LoL. And of course the pretty perfect princess cheerleader whos head is in front of mine adds a nice contrast of character doesnt it? :P

edit to add: class of '97 BTW

Hmmmm, no yearbook photos?? Does that mean no yearbooks either?? I'm sure all the senior photos, yearbooks, class rings, letterman jackets and the likes are just another branch of the overmarketing that occurs here in the states. Senior year was probably the most expensive year for my folks, the poor guys. :-)

I just assumed the sophmore, junior, senior thing was pretty universal. Goes to show how little I know. :-) So how about Grad Pictures? Got any of those to share? Would those be for high school or university?

Ok chiming in here as the oldest so far...
Class of 82

The Farrah Fawcett Feather!!

(ignore the glare, too lazy to take it out of the frame and scan)

You should see the family album. Some of the pics were chiseled on stone!

Ah! Art aristorcracy! Did they perchance create some of the original works?

No, my family probably couldn't afford to live in a nice cave back then. More likely, they drew pictures in the mud by the river. :D
