A commercial photographer with some great skills.

If you need a smile today, find the kid with the wet cat.

That's quite an imressive portfolio. It seemed to me as if there were some weird things going on for what concerns DOF. Have a look at the portrait of the man in the pool - has that photograph really got two points of focus (face & wall in the back)?

There is no doubt about it. It is a "look".

What do you mean by that? I had the impression that the DOF might be artificial.

It feels like selective blurring to me in places as well.
Nicely done though.

Great range.
I really like the processing on the Salton Sea stuff.
Nostalgic.

I'm a big fan of Mark's work. Here is a shot of his Plungercam. Long before lensbabies were born :) Plungercam

Definitely artificial....I was basically agreeing that something "funky" is going on...either with a lens modifier or in post.

I'd be interested to find out how you could possibly achieve such an effect with a 'lens modifier'. I'd have thought it was physically impossible. Can anyone fill me in on this? (Kirbic? :)

He certainly has some talent. Nice link. What's more, he manages to do with a plain and simple HTML site what many fail to do with Flash and all sorts of bells and whistles. Steiner's photography is better exhibited on his web site than most.
