Money Pit....laugh so hard, you cry.
It was the movie that hubby & I went to see on our very first date back in '86. We bought it on VHS last yr when we were in the middle of nearly 2 yrs of house renovations. The kids LOVED it because it's funny as heck & we could laugh at the similarities to our own renos & the added plus that they got to see what we saw on our first date 20 yrs ago.

OK, Ferris Bueler's Day Off is the official best movie of the 80's (my scale, of course), but I don't judge it necessarily comedy. There were funny moments - but hey, they talked about LIFE! Cameron had real problems, man and Ferris was testing his teen bounderies. LOL

Planes, Trains & Automobiles! Absolutely. One of the best.

One of my guilty pleasures...a film I'm reluctant to confess to enjoying... Me, Myself and Irene.

How about Galaxy Quest?

The Gold Rush is probably my favorite silent.
For the near-silent era I'd say March of the Wooden Soldiers with Laurel and Hardy.
From the latter-third of the 20th Century A Hard Day's Night with The Beatles -- oh, and The Pink Panther and The Russians Are Coming! The Russians Are Coming!
From the end of the century maybe Toy Story 2 or George of the Jungle ... it is truly a sobering thought that Steve Jobs is (ultimately) responsible for some of the best humorous films of the past decade.
