I recently made a video slideshow of a friend's wedding in Windows Photo Story 3 but can't seem to make a DVD or VCD out of the file. To my knowledge the software only saves the files as .wmv and none of my DVD authoring software will read them ...

(I have a free version of Sonic MyDVD which will read the file, but always crashes my computer and ULead DVD Movie Factory Studio Suite which doesn't crash my computer but doesn't read the file)

Can anyone recommend a (preferably free) photo slideshow program that offers similar features as Windows Photo Story 3? (basically allowing zooming/moving within the photos)

Thanks

I have used a combination of two programs to create the movie, windows photo story and windows movie maker which is free I believe, or it was with my xp pro.and it has some wonderful transitions.
I have used a couple to actually make dvds, nero and roxio easy cd and dvd creator, which aren't free but not very expensive. You could d/load the trial versions and experiment.
It is a while since I did any so I'm not sure on any details, I did a wedding video a couple of years ago and it turned out exellent with the above, added music etc.I suppose the copywrite comes in if you are selling though.

ProShow Gold isn't free. But it's not all that expensive ($69.95) and it's one of the best around. You can download the trial version for free. No limits on functionality, so you can try everything with it. All it does is put a watermark on your video until you register it.

Thanks everyone, I used the Photo Story/Movie Maker approach and it worked very well. I might consider proshow gold if I end up doing this more often though.

HI Everyone.

Is Proshow looks great.

Is there some auto music that can be created like in photostory3? That is an awesome feature. Make creation a breeze especially for commercial use where you can't just use any music.

Suggestions?

Thanks,

ed

You can purchase a plug in for Photo Story 3 which will allow you to burn CD's or DVD's directly from the program. I don't think it is expensive ($20 I think). If you like using photo Story - this would be a viable option.

I just used movie maker instead of photo story 3. no difference in that it still will not play in DVD player.
Hey Maverik, how'd you get it to work.
