I entered a competition on the BBC website back in July, with this photo: DeoxyribonucleicWHAT?! The Life of a Student, and today I got a letter through the post:

Dear Ben Roberts
The Imagine photographic competition
I am writing to offer my congratulations. The picture you submitted to the BBC and Wellcome Trust photographic competition has been awarded 1st prize by our panel of independant judges!
This means that you have won £1000 worth of photography equipment vouchers and that your photograph will be included in an exhibition at the Royal Albert Hall. Your winning image may also be included in our commemorative 2004 calendar and any other publicity material linked to the competition.
Prizes will be awarded on the 8th October at the launch of the exhibition.

Too add to the excitement of your day, we are also delighted to say that the Science Museum are able to welcome prize-winners and their guests on a short hosted visit around some of their galleries after the prize-giving.
