It's not really "photo" related, but I just have to share. My husband and I are officially homeowners for the first time! We closed on this house a little over a week ago and have been running around ever since then trying to get ready to move by the end of the month.

As you can see, not really any grass yet, so we're working on that part pretty diligently :-) So now if any DPCers really get the urge to visit Central Illinois, we have somewhere to put you up!

Ahhhh - The splendid feeling of owning a new home! Congratulations and enjoy!

Ok, now get busy. ;^)

Hey! Any photo opp's around there? I'll bet the walls are still blank. Easy setup for a Color Studio Portrait I'd imagine. He-he....

Woo! Very exciting. Isn't it fun and kind of crazy to know that you finally own a house? We bought our first house last summer and we still sometimes have that "wow, it's reall ours!" feeling. Good luck with the move which is always the suckiest part...

Congratulations! Home ownership can be so satisfying--enjoy having your own walls and hang all the pictures you want!

(By the way, is that a little "grunge" action I detect in your image? Ah, the drama of it all!)

Congratulations! May I wish you many happy times in your new home.

We just bought ours a year ago, and it is still a wonderful feeling, so I know exactly how you feel.

Congratulations. Hope you don't mind but I thought I'd see what it looked like with a lawn. Good luck as a homeowner :-)

Thanks everybody!! We're super excited :-) We've got the three bedrooms painted, and I'm setting aside space in one of the guest rooms for a mini studio, so I'm THRILLED!

whatdewuc--thanks for fixing my lawn!! Now, if you would kindly come to Illinois and fix it HERE too.... ;-) Still though, very encouraging to think that that is what it will look like someday!

givemeashot--if you've got a new house, lets see it! Stick it up here!

gmdi--oh you must be so excited!!! I skipped class and my hubby played hooky from work the day we closed :-) Many congrats!

GREAT about the studio, that's like the cherry on top of your already wonderful news! You'll know that you are officially "IN" when you can park at least one vehicle in the garage, OK? :) Congrats on your new home... wishing you many happy memories there.
