This is what I have used:

This is what I didn't go with:

Which one would you have scored higher? Either way I am disappointed with my score...

who knows really, I voted your entry a 7 though...

Actually I like the one with the little girl in it. It is such a cute picture. I like how you framed the stairs and her pink dress just sets it off. Dont think you made a mistake but thats just my opinion. Great pictures, both of them.

Wait, I just re-looked at your score.

You need to stop whining before I come over there and kick the whine out of you. :OP

top 10% in a huge challenge with awesome pics in it. Be grateful.

Thanks. I was just expecting more I guess... Oh well, there's always next time.

I am not sure which would have done better... but I like the one with the little girl more... it's more of a unique shot and I love the composition on it and her pink dress really makes her look like a little princess in an old-time setting.

Thanks for the replies. So far it seems I went with the right choice. It's really hard to choose from your own stuff sometimes...

I gave your shot a 7. What I feel is that the lighting is letting it down a bit. I suspect it was an overcast day.

Of the two I think you made the right choice. It's much more dynamic than the tulips as there are elements that lead you into and through the image.

I prefer the first, it tells much more of a story and feels more alive.

I think it's a great photo, I would have voted high if I could vote in that challenge, but Place: 76 out of 829 is very very good. I wouldn't be complaining.

:edit: Just wanted to add, I really love the colour.

I agree I woulndt complain you could have scored as poorly as I did at 602nd place..kinda disheartning considering I though this was my best shot of last year.

Definitely, the one with the little girl. It's good (very well done) and has cute factor. The other is just another photo of flowers IMO, and is rather boring.

I gave you a 9... the flowers would have gotten a 5/6 from me. I don't understand what you're complaining about though. Considering the number of entries this scored quite well.

i love your flowers. I have even tried to imitate that angle/color scheme myself. (Didn't work). But I have just seen your entry for the first time and adore that one too. I like both, and I am a fairly tough critic. Good choice in my opinion.

Btoh photos are crap - can't believe you made the top 10% - Only kidding. Although the lower shot is good, I think you made the better choice. If I did score in that challenge - I would've scored you a 7.

Can't believe you complaim about your score - I am ecstatic to be over 5 with my last entry. (That is 5 on result - not percent placing)

ok. I guess I just need to grow up and be happy with the score. Thanks again everyone. It means a lot...

Your unhappy with your highest score to date? Hmmm .....
02/02/2006 07:52:53 PM · #19
wow you were disappointed with a 6.5? Should I be devastated with my 6.3 then? j/k :)

I think both photos are great and you did make the right choice. I scored yours a 7 btw.
