For the summer, we need to have a challenge pertaining to water.

that's a great idea for the summer and if there's any water left in jersey by then it'll be a fun challenge!

Seeing how I'm in the desert, can we change that to beaches? Got all the beach you ever saw, just don't have any water.

Ok, I'll take that back, what we have is the Rio Grande River, but its not always picturesque.... how about rattlesnakes?? lol

If we said "oceans", we might rule you out -- but water... water's everywhere! :)

Yeah, I meant any kind of water. I live 3 hours from the nearest beach but we have a couple of lakes in the area, ponds galore, and even in my dog's bowl.

Hey anybody suggested doing those fun shots where you leave the shutter speed on for like 10 seconds and you capture the light from cars as they zoom by on the freeway. As a child I use to love looking at those pictures.

We've got long-exposure in our big list of possible challenges. We're slightly hesitant to use it because some users may not be able to adjust their shutter speed. We'll keep you posted.

Cool. Yeah the thought totally slipped my mind. I forgot some of the digital camera users on this site might not be able to adjust the shutter speeds. It'd be fun though, just think...skyline shots, from the mountain top shots, etc. Ok keep me informed big guy.
PS - I'm also a design student.

yeah, some of us only have little canon digital ixus cameras where you can't adjust lots of things!

Also, a whole lot of people in big cities might find it difficult to find a barn to photograph!!

I live in a pretty big city. No trouble finding the barn of my wife's grandparents.

Was curious. Found it (challenge suggestion thread). Did a quick 'Google' because I wanted to know what the difference is. :-)

https://askanydifference.com/difference-between-highway-and-byway/

"The difference between Highway and Byway is that highway is wider, well-constructed, and usually used to travel between two cities but on the other hand, the byways is a small narrow path with an unstructured surface. Highways are multilane roads, but byways are the single-lane path."

In the U.K. a byway is generally a minor road, lane or bridle way. Highways encompass all routes over which the public has right of traverse, although more usually they would refer to tarmaced, classified roads.
