What's up with the challenges? Today is the 28th, but the Oops challenge is still open for entries and the Phobia challenge is still open for votes.

Site was down from roughly 9 PM until 3 AM; I suspect they're leaving it opne a while longer so as not to shut out people who were working on a late submission.

Or they were all safely tucked up in bed thinking it had rolled over as it was supposed and will see the problem when they wake.

I would think that if the deadline has been changed it would be in the "Site News" column. It is not!

same here. got up early to make a day of shooting but I really want to know what the challenges are before I leave. |

| I tried to get in last night to put in my picture and couldn't because the sight was down. My picture is not that good but I spent alot of time trying to come up with and photographing something different and wanted to see what everyone thought about it so I was dissapointed when I was not able to submit it. I was very happy to see that the submission time was extended. Thank you SC for extending the submission time. You guys are awesome! |

I suspect that since the server was down at midnight, the scheduled cron job that handles the rollover did not run.

I too attempted to submit last night (just a few minutes before 9pm pacific, and thus just a few minutes before the theoretical deadline), and was unable to. I was cutting it close, I know, but I'm glad to find that now (and for a little while, I guess? Not sure exactly -- oh, and yes, I'm still awake at 03:45 my time, though bed _is_ calling) it's back up, and yet the challenges are still open. The site seemed to take my submission; I hope that won't be reversed! An update on the news section would be lovely, so we can know what to expect.
Thanks for getting the site back!
(Looks like it was a networking problem? I couldn't get to other semi-advertised addresses on that network either.) |

It is almost lunch time where I live and I have been waiting all morning to see In wich place I ended in the DOF II, who won the DOF II contest and who won the phobia contest and I want to see if you like my Oops!

I agree tho, it would've been nice to see the new challenges, even if the voting was extended..

| I think it should have been an the site news as soon as the site went back up. I just woke up, my brain was still half sleep and I'm pressing my refresh button over and over and over again. Since I did not see any site news I thought it was my PC acting up, or me going crazy. I even checked a calender to make sure it was not still the 27th. Then I read through the forums... and thought I'm not going crazy! :-) Well not now at least. |
