Sorry but blue for me just dosent cut it I want to photograph on more closed topics. This is not a personal attack on whoever thought up the idea but it is a bit lame. I suggest SPORT, LINGUISTIC NATURE or on the blue topic BLUE IDEAS or BLUE ITEMS OF INTEREST.

DOSE ANYONE ELSE THINK THIS IS A BIT OF A HO HUM CHALLENGE I WOULD APPRECIATE YOUR THOUGHTS.

Actually, I'm looking forward to this challenge... Gives folks a chance to be creative...

btw ~ Were the caps really necessary?

Since the photo need only suggest blue, there's a good bit of latitude involved.

...Unless, of course, you get a pack of literal-minded voters. ;-)

I think the topic of blue is terrific. The open-ended challenges foster creativity and this certainly can't be a bad thing.

"Blue" is a fabulously creative topic, and I am looking forward to shooting my piece.

Take a self portrait. that should be a great picture for the challenge since you are feeling a little blue. :) Good luck and maybe next week you will get what you wished for.

Firstly, I'm pretty sure this was a member's suggestion originally. Secondly, I suggest you review the results of the related challenge, Red, and see how people have approached this type of "topic" before.

What you have to remember is that DPC participators are from all over the world and have all sorts of very different interests.

If one person was really enthusiastic about every challenge theme posted here I'd be worried about the flip-side - the person who is not really excited about most of them.

However, what I usually see is that the challenges are varied enough in style and content that most members find that there are only a few challenges that don't appeal to them and plenty that do.

I personally love the challenge "blue" and hope I will have time to enter it as I am out 4 nights this week plus the weekend...

"Sport", on the other hand, would leave me colder than a week nekkid in Siberia...

There is nothing stopping you limiting your own subject choice to
Blue Ideas or Blue Items of Interest. You could even try to
do a 'Blue Sports' shot. Isn't choice fun ?

I really like this Blue challenge. Now I just need an idea for this week. I think we will be getting some very interesting photos. It's really just about getting out and taking photos so even if you take a great photo of something else and you don't enter the challenge you are still benefitting from the challenge.

I am also in agreement that there are some very very nice photo's this weeks. I'm looking forward to voting. And as for a pack of literal minded voters... I'm afraid I've already had at least one. Ah well. Such is life. I'll get over it. In fact, I think I already have. :)

I'm going to agree with aelith here. There are some fabulous photos this time! I have gotten through 97 so far, and have given out 3 well deserved 10's and quite a number of 9s and 8s. Good job all, really excellent work I would say. And for the person who came up with Blue, I applaud you as this was a "challenge" in it's own right. Nice job! Good luck to everyone! :-)

Amazing photos this week. Luckily, I ran out of battery power before I got a good shot so I didn't enter and saved myself some humiliation!
