I'm in the Boston area on business for a couple of days (Danvers to be precise). Does anyone have any recommendations for good photographic supply stores in the area?

There are 3 Ritz Camera stores (NOT the online company, but related to them) in the area. They have a wide selection of stuff.

I have heard good things about Campus Camera on Beacon Street, supposed to have knowledgeable people.

Here's a list of area camera stores: //boston.zami.com/Photography_Store/Photographic_Equip_&_Supplies

Make sure to take your camera down Newbury St. today. Since it's a really hot dy out there should be lots of skimpy clothes on the girls and some very, very short skirts. Always quality on that street! :)

I didn't think I'd have any free time, so I didn't bring my camera But I might just have to take a stroll in that direction anyway :D

Bought my 10D at Newtonville Camera, a friendly small store that's stocked to the rafters with goodies. Zeff in Belmont (just over the border from Cambridge), is huge, caters to pros and sells just about everything. Hunt's is a local chain with a huge store in Melrose, but I haven't been there so I can't comment on them. Calumet caters to pros and has a well-known store in Cambridge, but again I haven't been there. SBI used to have a great small store in Cambridge, now they are somewhere downtown Boston.

Any of those are likely to have more knowledgeable staff than Ritz or other such chains.

egsite: Hunt's is decent, with some limited used stuf (at least the last time I was there.) The staff is pretty well informed, and helpful.

Also, if you are out and about, there is supposed to be a good Ansel Adams exhibit at the MFA. I haven't been there, but, if I get time later this week, I am going to check it out. (Might take some of the pain out of not having your camera...)

bragur: Cambridge is just across the Charles. Its accessible via the Red Line.
