I guess I can understand now why some people have undisclosed email addresses. Maybe I'm a little paranoid but I received an email this morning from someone saying very ugly things about my appearance and photographic abilities. They said they were asked to critique some of my webshots pictures by one of my good friends and proceeded to name his name. My friend knew absolutely nothing about the situation and is very upset. I just want everyone to here to know that I am not trying to keep my address from anyone and if you want to hear from me just let me know through the forums. I have enjoyed the personal emails I have gotten from everyone and until I can get to the bottom of this situation I'll just have to be careful.

Art is subjective and some people are just mean. I went to your gallery and I thought your flower shots were great. Incidentally, I went to about twenty other webpages/galleries to see what other people have been doing and there are some really good collections of photos out there. What the heck, just click on one and see where it takes you!

Thanks for the nice compliment. We all have our own styles and I think that is what makes this hobby so exciting. I would like to branch out to other subjects as I get more secure in my camera abilities. However, until then I am concentrating on plants, animals, and macro shots. Some of the so called experts out there seem to have a hard time understanding that what looks good to them may not look good to the general public.

I agree that there are many great photographers in our community. I have enjoyed all of the galleries I have visited.

It's really sad how some people choose to live. A little respect for others goes a long way. Has the "I love everyone and America" been so quickly forgotten since Sept. 11th ? To critique something is a good thing if done in the right way. There is no need to belittle someone or carry on a personal attack. How lame:(

I'm sorry you are going through this. I hope you will stay in touch with me on ICQ or email:)

Yes I definately will. I would have already done the ICQ thing but I saw my husband was feeling a little neglected and I promised him I would spend more time with him this weekend. I will email you when I get my ICQ set up.

It's such a shame there are people out there who will pull stuff like that and make what could be a safe, fun place that much less safe for everyone. Some people are just asses. Sorry you had to deal with that, shortredneck.

And of course Langdon and I are disappointed about this. Some people just look a gift horse in the mouth. Please be sure report any users who are abusing their privledges on the site.

WAs it someone connected in any way with DPCHALLENGE?

Probably not. Anyway I guess I won't ever know who it was. It just looks like a case of cyberstalking. This person only mentioned my Webshots albums and my friend's recommendations for a critique. In fact, he or she presented himself as a mutual "friend". I have communicated with my friend and he has not passed along anything for a critique. I know he is telling the truth because his time has been occupied with his mother being in intensive care for three weeks now.

My only reason for mentioning this on the forum is to let everyone know why some people will not reveal their email addresses. I have exposed myself on several websites especially here and on Webshots. I will not let this scare me. I am trying to use some common sense to make sure this is a stupid prank. Thanks to all of my friends here on dpchallenge for your concern and support.

I see no reason *to* reveal the email address, considering the feature allowing you to send a message through dpchallenge to someone who has his or her email undisclosed.

That feature is wonderful. I had a private message after my email address came off the site and it seems to work better than my own email. Thanks guys.
