Nothing wrong with being a geek. Geeks run the planet.

I've been watching this over recent weeks and really admiring it whilst assuming it's CGI or composite. Apparently it's for real but I don't know...

Am I the only one seeing the tires rolling up a ramp at a slow speed? This doesn't seem quite realistic to me...

The only thing I could really see as sketchy were the wheels, but apparently they were weighted on the uphill side to roll like that. Read the accompanying articles below the animation. It's possible, though I have suspicions too. It looks a little too perfect. The set is quite long...

They have weights on top of the tires (inside the tires), so that as the first tire hits it, the stuff drops and ROLLS the tire up and so on (potential energy converted to kinetic energy :))

This rocks. I sit staring at the telly every time it comes on.
And don't forget ... one day the geeks will inherit the earth (or at least I think that's what he said).

I'm still not convinced though. I guess most of it is possible but how do those speakers at the end start bouncing like that with no wires connected? They would have to be playing REALLY loudly to have that much. I know a bit about car audio and I know that to make that many speakers bounce that much it would take several large amplifiers, very thick speaker wire, they have to securely mounted and that's assuming they don't pop anyway. I've only ever seen 10 or 12 inch sub-woofers move like that and not pop. Who know, maybe the quality isn't all that good from the original and I'm missing something, but I'm still not totally convinced.

Here's an article from a reliable London newspaper about the ad:

That was a great article on it Patella.

I think there are certainly at least two versions of the ad out though - I've seen one where the final step causes the boot to close which tips a see saw balance and the car rolls off and another which I remember less well that ends with the car boot already closed and i think the sequence of events differs too...
