Hmmm...just cleared up nicely here...don't suppose "Nuthin' But Blue Skies..." will be too successful.

I'd love to see a good shot of "perfect weather" in sunny so. CA! Or perhaps the motion blur of heat rising in the Mojave desert...

Why not convey a little heat

Read the subtitle of this hallenge. It's only fair to note that this one is a good one and will give equal chances even to those of you who will get uninteresting blue skies all week.

Try photographing weather or the effects weather can have on the environment.

Rust and weatheredbuildings would qualify!

I've had to listen to chainsaws for two days straight because of all the trees that came down in a storm the other night. I'm ready for some blue skies and now.

Dang! Here in CO blue skies all around me, grey above and snow pellets falling, but unfortunately not hard enough to capture them. Cannot see them against the grey sky, are melting on impact with the ground )C:

I have to agree with StevePax, because I'm in San Diego. This is the first week in ages the forecast doesn't include SOME kind of weather (even wind or big waves or fog or drizzle would suffice) -- including what they call "Chamber of Commerce" weather here. That doesn't mean we can't find something worthy to take a picture, it just means we can't stand at our front doors with camera in one hand and a cup of java in the other, waiting for spring to do what it does best.

For those of you who can, you have my sincere envy. :)

The weather forecast here looks too good too. I was wondering though, do autumn leaves count as the result of weather? The change of seasons does relate to a change in weather after all.

Personally, I usually don't rate photos very high if I have to make a mental link, or leap, from the photo itself to the challenge criteria, even if the photo is very good. A nice shot of Autumn leaves on a tree with the Sun nearby is better then just Autumn leaves on the ground in my opinion.

That is nice to hear. It snowed here in the NE today! I'm very glad I'm moving to Sothern Cali in a few months!

ANyone want to trade some blue sky for some grey and snow? I'd be willing to take some of that warm yellow stuff too.

Some food for thought:

It's really windy today here in Texas - how would you show that photographically ? Would you recognise large amounts of motion blur on trees and see 'wind' or would you see 'bad photo - blurry'

If only we had had this challenge a couple weeks ago, when I was visiting Iceland ... :(

Iceland? I went out for a quick ride on my bike yesterday and had: Sunny & still, cold & windy, snowstorm & windy, cold, rainy & windy etc. It was like a bad joke :)

Now it's just plain shitty.

Tumbleweeds should do the job.
You can go see the A's play the Rangers tonight and watch a broken-bat popup sail over the fence...

Wednesday already, and I still haven't seen any sign of even the tiniest little cloud. Even a boring, uninteresting cloud. The forcast is for continued clear skies all week. I guess it's gonna be a clear-weather submission from me, like it or not.

I once went hiking in Dinosaur Nat'l Monument in Eastern Utah. It was sunny and warm when I started out. I had brought my jacket, but it was so hot, I took it off. I had gone about a mile when the clouds came in. Then it snowed. It was a blizzard for a good 20 minutes. When it finally stopped snowing, it warmed up again and melted it all. Then it started to rain, and it was a downpour! I was soaked. I had gone about three miles by this point on a loop trail and had two miles to go to get back to my car. When it finally stopped raining, I had gone another mile, my shoes squishing all the way. Then came the wind. It blew very hard for the last mile. When I got to my car, I was all dry!
