I was so tired of editing and organizing my vacation photos of the Crystal Cathedral, that I just played with this one with the "Flood" software and ended up liking the result. Any comments, good or bad -- all welcome.

What a hoot! Love it, Kyle!
The ripples on the water and the reflections are fantastic!
I would love to see this applied to other photos too, like a shot of NYC.
"Flood software" ??? Tell me more, please, and keep playing with it *s*.
(Oh and hey.... thanks for my birthday wishes yesterday ((((( hugs )))))

I was afraid of that - someone wanting to know the correct name for the software! LOL It is one I heard about here. I am not on my PC right now, so I can't look it up. If no one jumps in and tells us, tPM me tonight and I will tell you exactly wht it is. And THANK YOU!!!!

It is very easy and FUN!

I found it (even beat you to it), downloaded and installed the demo version and already started playing with it.
That is so cute - thanks for sharing, Kyle!
I'll post it if I come up with anything decent.

After you apply the flood filter, use the history brush to remove flood from around the front of the object, making a curve. It will give a more 3D look to it. Like this,

Ummmm, WOW!! That's awesome Kylie!! I love that flood filter, I've only used it a couple of times mainly on Moons and statues (I originally heard about it from a thread where Marbo posted some moon shots he had done with it) It's a bit addicting. :-)

But this is amazing, what you did with it. Very very cool, lady! ;-D

Thanks for that tip, Caba... I think I saw this picture awhile back (or something similar to it) and was wondering how that was done.

It really is a lot of fun, now I won't get any work done this afternoon.

Thanks much for posting it.

Very nice! I don't have a "history" brush with my software right now - wish I did!

Now I'm even more impressed!
Thanks for teaching us that trick, Frank.

Thanks Kylie looks like a fun software to try.

Well, that would certainly help explain the Steelers' loss on Sunday...!

Wow pretty cool, I just downloaded it. What do you think of my first atempt?

Nice idea travis, I'd try out the history brush thing mentioned above, at a variable opacity - that horizon looks a bit sharp at the mo.

I think if you mess around with the different settings, you can soften the "horizon line". I don't have the history brush, but know I have been able to keep a softer line. Glad to see everyone is having fun with this again.

hehe, I hope this isn't going to be allowed in challenges? I can just see 200 people submitting floods.

Great find Kylie, 3 clicks of the mouse and hey presto!

Thanks Kylie, I've just downloaded the demo version. I didn't have time to experiment on a suitable photo, but I think I'm going to have fun with this one.

Had a quick look at some of your photos at smugmug. They're wonderful.

I am curently working on getting all the locations and EXIF entered into my portfolio and website, so my apologies. This is the tower at the Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, California. I was down there again, and in Palm Springs, back in late December. Thank you so very much for the kind words!
