Hi there

Has anyone got Nik Efex working with Photoshop CC 2017 on a PC (Windows 10)?

I tried to add the plugins and I am only seeing some of the plugins - Silver Efex is not showing up and that is my favourite one :(

Be interested to know if anyone else has got Silver Efex working with Photoshop CC 2017.

Thanks

Paul

There's some info in this thread

According to the banner on the Nik/Google site they are no longer updating the Nik software

We have no plans to update the Collection or add new features over time.

At the moment I'm able to use it with PS CC 2017 (Mac) but I'm wondering if the next update will still work

That really sucks, Silver Efex is still the best B&W software out there.

Indeed. I've been using it since around 2010 when it first came out. Paid a lot of money for it too, long before Google were ever involved.

Thanks for the replies. For those who do have it working in Photoshop CC 2017 on a PC - do you have a "Google" folder within the "plug-ins" folder of Photoshop CC 2017 installation folder?

c:/program files/adobe/adobe photoshop cc 2017/plug-ins/google

That's the path I have for the plugin's and it works perfectly. I just built this computer about 3 months ago and did a full new install on it and have had no problems with Nik software to date.

Thanks - my path is E:\downloads\Adobe Photoshop CC 2017\Plug-ins\Google

I may try re-installing on the C drive but being a miniscule SSD drive it is short of space

That should work, not sure why you are having problems.

When I built this computer I went with a 1TB SSD so I would not have a problem with OS and programs fitting on it. Right now it is 1/2 full so I am going to start looking for another one just for my photo editing programs.

A 1TB SSD would be a nice upgrade for me

It was for me. I was running a Mac Mini that was about 8 years old. So this new computer is like driving at warp speed

You can manually copy the plug-in to the photoshop folder and it will work. I did that in the past. You can take back of the existing folder and install OS and put those back.

As I mentioned in other thread, for me it all works fine.

I do run it on PS CC 2017 on Win 10 and I have no issues with Nik. I do remember that after a major upgrade I had to reinstall the Nik Collection to have it run again.
