I can't see the vote distribution, ie the histograms, for the photos in the two challenges that just finished voting (Extended free study and We have a story to tell II). Is this deliberate?

Interesting. I can see mine, but no one else's, and not just for these challenges but applied retroactively. If it's intentional, I'm not a fan and would call it one more nail in a half shut coffin.

I'm seeing them. Just checked the top two or three finishers in the two latest challenges. Running Chrome v 51.0.2704.103 under Win7 Pro.

Ha that's interesting. Initially it was only the last two challenges, and I could see the earlier ones. Now, after waking my computer from a "sleep" I can't see them for any of the challenges. Presumably the earlier ones were cached somewhere.

Mozilla Firefox 47.0; Windows 7

It's not intentional.

Don't see them - Win 10, Chrome 51.0.2704.103

Not visible to me, either. OS X El Capitan v. 10.11.5; Safari Version 9.1.1 (11601.6.17)

Not seeing it on Firefox 46.0.1 or Chrome 47.0.2526.106 (which is likely behind, but I never use it so I'm not updating), OS X Yosemite 10.10.5.

i can't see histograms with Chrome Version 51.0.2704.103

and why is there no yellow ribbon for 'tell your story' - and instead there are 3 HM?

A tie for 2nd place means no yellow ribbon for 3rd, and a tie for 5th means an extra HM on the front page.

I also have Windows 10 Pro. I can't see them on Firefox (47.0), IE (11.420.10586.0), or Chrome (51.0.2704.103 m). I have no plugins installed for IE or Chrome (because I don't use them), though a few blockers for Firefox.

People who can't see the historgrams... did you vote in the challenge?

Yeah, I solved the mystery. If you voted, you can see the histogram. If you didn't, you can't.

Good detective work. I verify this phenomenon.

Yaaay, Don!

Yet another reason to vote ;)

So is this a new "feature" to encourage voting? My apologies if it's discussed elsewhere, but I've been otherwise occupied (which is why I didn't vote or participate in the last two).

Well I've been intermittently attentive but I am not aware of such a plan.

It wouldn't tempt me to vote if I weren't planning on voting anyway.

In my view, the histogram is only helpful information to the photographer anyway.

So... maybe that's the solution to the issue... if it's an issue?

I still wouldn't vote even if it were only the photog who couldn't see the curve... I sometimes think that that's just torture anyway... seeing all of those < 4 votes spelled out for me.

I believe I can remember blue-red-red-yellow and blue-red-yellow-yellow etc, so when did this change?

I think you are mis-remembering your first example; the second can still occur if there is an exact tie for third place, and then there should only be one HM so that it is always the top-five scores represented.

The top 7 finishers were:

1. 6.8261
2. 6.7368
2. 6.7368

4. 6.6610
5. 6.4915
5. 6.4915

7. 6.3793

If there had been a tie for third and a tie for fourth, THEN there would only be 5 on the front page, but the tie for 5th brings the 6th image to the page.

I feel the exact opposite way. If I want to understand the numbers in mine I want to interpret them through others' numbers, particularly in the low votes.

Have not been told if it's a bug or a hidden feature, but again, if it's the latter I am not a fan.

See above -
Bear_Music mentioned it was not intentional.
