I have the Canon 60D and since you're familiar with the Canon what lenses would you recommend as a good, not break the bank, wide angle lens. Another question, what is the biggest difference other than distance with the Canon ef 100 macro And the Canon efs 60 macro lens?

Price! The EFS 60mm is a wonderful lens, we used it for years. If you buy the new EF 100mm IS macro from Canon, that's an absolute corker, 5-plane internal stabilization, very useful for hand-held macros, but it's quite expensive. I used that one with my 5D2 and loved it. Regarding a "good, not break the bank" WA for the cropped-sensor Canons, I'm not sure what's the status of your bank. The 10-22mm EFS from Canon led the field for years and years and can be had at a reasonable price (by my standards anyway). The newer, enthusiast-oriented Canon 10-18mm EFS is about half that price, new, and gets excellent reviews, though I have never used one. It's small, it's liggt, it's WIDE, but it's max aperture's isn't very impressive.

There are, of course, a host of third-party ultrawides out there, but as I have no experience with those I'll leave it to others to help you out there.

The Canon 10-18mm is a must have lens, very sharp. Ridiculous cheap and ultra light. Just make sure to bring a tripod with you. when it's getting darker.
I had already 6 blue ribbons with it. And I keep it in my bag wherever I go. 40mm 2.8 pancake and 85mm 1.8 are my other lenses I never go out without them.

My "go-to lens" is almost always my Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM.

I use it for portraits... gorgeous.

I use it for macros (with tubes... don't bother with the Canon version of extension tubes. They don't have glass...).

I use it for almost everything. :D

I had the non-L version before it. It was also wonderful.

I want to thank you guys so much for your advise. I can spend a whole day surfing the net for comparisons and still not get solid advise. Thanks once again. :-D

to be honest unless you are shooting that wide angle wide open, they will all be the same. when you stop down to f8 or so they all get really sharp, especially new glass.
