But make it much more interesting.

I'm sitting in a hospital bed feeling sorry for myself. I was released from the hospital yesterday after 6 days/five nights. Wasn't even over the threshold to my house when we realized we had to call 911. So I'm back in the hospital but at least closer to my house. It will be quite a while before I can take pictures.

So someone needs to do it for me. I don't want it to be "in the style of". I don't have a style worthy of that. But I thought someone has to take my photos for awhile if I can't.

So it could be a fun challenge to have if you would go find something that I would photograph, but make it interesting. Plus I'm getting better enough to be bored.

Wendy, I'm sorry that you had a setback so soon after your initial release. But, as you say, getting bored is a good sign of recovery.

If I can contribute to your entertainment by participating in your suggested challenge, I will. ... but, I don't have any squirrels, I suck at bird photography, I'm allergic to cats ... still, I'll go out and find something ... or, stay in and find something.

In the mean time, you get better!

This could be a dangerous assignment. ...

So sorry you had to go back to the hospital :(

If we had a cat or squirrel challenge, I think we should give special dispensation to jomari to shoot kangaroos or wallabis instead!

PS - yes, along with the others, VAWendy, sorry to hear you had to go back to the hospital for more "get well" treatment.
So, now, please get well!

I have an idea. Sort of a mix of previous ideas, really. Instead of "in the style of" maybe we could have a little more fun, share more comments, with a challenge like this:

Find something in Wendy's portfolio that you admire. Try to copy it. In your notes, reference that photo & what it is about that photo that inspired you, what it is about that photo that you are using for inspiration to add to your own toolbox of skills & ideas.

I would pick this one, & I'd be trying to learn from Wendy's ability to see a story & to get a photo that lets us see the story, too. I'm hopelessly terrible at this, but I'd like to improve.

I also admire her ability to recognize interesting light.

Wendy, I'm sorry to hear you're back in the hospital. Good that it's closer to home, though. You're the only person I know of who's been run over by a Rogue! I hope you're home again soon. You could amuse yourself (in 2-minute periods), thinking up an Artist's Statement for yourself. I've always found that to be an interesting exercise.

I like this. I do think anyone could find something to copy in this one. I'd like to see the reference in the title, but not sure how to do that.

I don't think that this was what Wendy had in mind.

Well, OK. I was just thinkin' out loud. Not trying to hijack the thread or anything.

I thought it was a good idea - maybe the title or notes would include which of Wendy's images inspired the shot.

Darn it Wendy. I'm sorry to hear you're under the weather. Haven't been following threads around here much lately and hadn't heard.

I'd be up for this challenge for sure! In the meantime, here's a fun one that I hope puts a smile on your face.

I like this! And make her title YOUR title.

Rereading Wendy's original post, I think the intention was to shoot subjects she enjoys but to present them in an "interesting" way, not necessarily exactly as she does them. A gallery full of 'Wishes for Wendy'' might be nice.

Good idea. We need to balance HORN and PANIC with something of a lighter note for Wendy

I agree! Ha!

But... I don't think that Wendy cares HOW we entertain her... Just so we do.

:D

I think a remake of, or an inspired by, of any of Wendy's images will divert her extremely well.

I'd love to do this (Standard editing) making sure to reference Wendy's title as our title (to make sure it's not yet another FS).
