Hey all

Thought I'd vent a little just because I can. I ordered some striplights off of Amazon, because they were advertised as having Bowen mounting rings. All good and dandy, and today I got the strips and unpacked one and assembled it. All was hunky dory until I tried to mount it onto my flashhead. Although the design is correct, it just won't lock into place. So revisted the listing and saw that its says it's for Bowen Gemini.

So rather than go through all the hassle and expense of returning the strips (and getting only 50% of my $$ back cause I opened and assembled one) as they're fine otherwise, I'm asking the seller if we can just swap mounting rings. That would make life a lot easier. So the moral of this story is: read listings VERY CAREFULLY. If I'd had a few more brain cells I'd've thought to pm the seller first and ask if that mounting ring was specific only for Bowens Gemini.

And if the swap-out doesn't work, I may pimp em here!

ETA: Just took some pics to show the seller, and on the rings he sent have the three 'ears' (their words), are noticeably longer than the ones on mine. Which accounts for why they won't lock into place. Which REALLY sucks cause I really wanted to use the damn things!!!!
