I like all of these, but if I had to pick I'd say rose01 and rose03 are the strongest and most evocative -- but maybe I'm stuck in square mode...Like the job you're doing with the frames too! |

Hey All,
I hope that some of you would have seen my few shots of flowers. While looking at few photos on potosig.com for better ways of taking flower shots, I found many photos shots were in a very particular style with a flat black background. Please check the link to see that photo.
FLOWER
I would like to know that how is the object (flower) placed to take this kind of shots and how should the lights be arranged.

first.. I like your flower shots 1 & 2. Very nice!
second.. about the lighting on the photosig one.. I am not sure but it looks to be lit from above. The glint of light on the bud and the leaves/stems gives it away .. imo.

this is the only compelling flower shot I have seen in a while...
If your going to take a picture of a BORING FLOWER it might as well BE unique, and quite good at that...
