i've already received a comment about how it's hard to tell how i used a mirror or my outstretched arm, it's simple, i didn't my camera has a timer -- so folks, when you're voting, please keep in mind those were only suggestions for ways to take the self-portrait

I couldn't have taken my picture if I didn't have a timer.

It seems lots of people are picking nits to try to off what ever they can. I noticed that in the macro series.

The sad part is a few foolish ones because the voter did not understand the challenge can really bring down an average.

As for me unless it obvious that they blew the assignment I make the assumption they did not.

As an illustration--one of the finalist in the table top was not shot with the camera on the table (unless the camera was very tall to get above that turntable and angle down). It failed the letter of the challenge yet finished in the ribons.

it wasn't on a table... it was on a *turntable*. Which is a table. Enough for me!

Even so it was above the turntable. As my post said though it met the spirit of the challenge.

re the mirror and the outstretched arm, i got that too, and i think we all got it from the same person. anyway, i emailed them and told them to re-read before they downgraded anyone else's submission. they wrote back apologizing profusely. hopefully they'll go back and re-vote ...
