My score started in the 6s but now mired in the mid-5s. Ah well, I care less about the score and more about the valuable suite of PS skillz I've acquired in learning how to do stuff in order to put it together.
Wendy, fwiw I think a better title for the challenge would have been Literal Definitions. My mind works in a very literal and visual manner. Not quite to the extent of, say, Temple Grandin, but not that far off either.
For example, not too long ago I heard a commercial on the radio encouraging listeners to go to a hardware store and buy a paper hammer. My mind being what it is, I instantly visualized a hammer that was made out of newspaper, and wondered why on earth would anyone buy such a useless item.
After some thought though, I realized that what they meant was a hammer-shaped piece of paper, which you could purchase for a dollar or two. The proceeds go to a business's pet charity. You write your name on and have it displayed in the store. Purchasing the hammer (and similar paper flowers, Easter eggs, pumpkins, turkeys, sprigs of holly etc) is just a way to publicize what a nice person you are :-0 |
