Hopefully someone can help me with this. It's actually my moms laptop.

Somehow the email address she uses to login is missing a letter and she can't figure out how to change it to the correct one. For example her email address is hearts@yahoo.com and the account shows heats@yahoo.com at the top. Since the email address is incorrect she cannot type in password to connect. She sent me a screenshot and it doesn't appear that you can change the email address without clicking on something else first.

I don't have and am not familiar with Windows 8 and I am trying to help her remotely. Hope I explained that properly.

Any ideas?

Would like to help but I'm not quite following. She logged out and now her Windows login is incorrect? Or did she create a Windows account with the wrong e-mail address?

Bump at least... :-/

See if she can create an email acct with that user name, then she can get the update? When she gets back in, she can update and delete the email acct.

I was afraid shed have to use the restore. She has a lot of business info saved to her desktop.

She can create a new user but it does t help much since the admin account is the one locked.

I probably didn't explain it right but there is got to be a way to change / fix the email address she uses to log in with. From the screenshot i saw last night the email address is at the top and its locked (you cant cant change it) and it asks for your password. She needs to change the email address because its incorrect somehow. Ill see if she can send me the screenshot but ill probably have to go to her house to look at.

I'd exhaust every other option before restore. I just found this information, which I hope is helpful.
