Take a full-length photograph of a person or persons in a studio. Include your lighting technique for your shot in the "Photographer's Comments" section.

The "in a studio" part will limit you to about 10 entries.

Not necessarily, you only need a sort of background :)

Alex, I'd be more than happy to do it home ... but the DNMC crowd would smote me down for not literally being in a studio. Pesky challenge descriptions and all.

I know what you mean, but I guess voters wouldn't be so literal this time. A well lit/well taken shot (like your last self portraits) could be considered as studio shots even when they are not... at least for me :)

My lounge and dinning room become a studio often. Move a table, close the curtains, set up lights - presto.

I actually hope this happens. Clearly Allen has something magical up his sleeve. No posts in a year then this challenge suggestion... Bring it on!

Yes Garry, it's not important that the shot is taken in an actual studio, just so long as it looks like it's taken in an actual studio. It's all about perception, doncha know. The ability to pull the wool, so to speak.

Ah, so what you're saying is don't take a shot with the washing machine in the background?

Not that I would even know where to find our washing machine ;)

I can take a lot of photos with the washing machine... it's the favorite object of my son now. You buy toys and they want washing machines, bottles, keys and so on... wonderful :)

Gee I dunno. It's perceivable that you could have moved the washing machine to the studio... perhaps that would be more advertisement photography.... or I can think of at least one other type of image you could get using a washing machine...

Site rules expressly prohibit that type of image..

Oh no they don't. What's wrong with an image of a little kid washing the cat?!

For shame.....!

Yes, Garry, as others mentioned, by "studio" I meant a room with no distractions really. What is a studio after all, a partially empty room basically. Many of us are good at turning a room in our house into one.

The original one is here, but my description is a lot more open and loose.
