Swatchmate, on Kickstarter
Take a look at this cool new device being developed, which I found out about this week.
Some engineering students in Australia are developing this, via crowdfunding, on Kickstarter ( which is great fun to explore ).
A small cube, with which you scan anything, to record its exact colour. That's linked via smartphone app or directly into Photoshop, so that the exact colour match becomes your foreground colour. It can store up to 20 colours, for you to load into computer later.
Also, if you need to paint your walls, and need to have a precise colour match, just zap this gizmo, and take it to the hardware store, where they'll make up the paint for you. No more need to take a divot out of your walls, to bring a chip to the store for paint colour matching.
I can see some uses for this, for many people who like working in colour, exploring Photoshop, interior designers, photographers etc.
I'm not connected in any way, but chose to get on board, and pledge $85 to fund their startup, and so to get a device to play with. |
