Naturally info was sketchy so being in the right place at the right time was difficult and even then the routine was changed. Very hazy morning on Sunday and wrong runway departure from normal... still here are some shots.

Thanks for posting these. It's not everyday that you get to see AF One. Most likely the Secret Service heard that you were planning to photograph the plane and changed the take off because of you :P

There were aviation nuts with radios as well as pilots that knew more than I about the arrangements so they got to the right locations. The web is full of amazing images in the aviation forums. Now I know where to look for info :)

AVCOM - Skip through page by page till you get images. Good read too!
SAAF - Same skip through till you get to the pics. Good read too!

As I was not aware of these forums until after the event, I noticed the chatter about Secret Service "requesting" that togs don't take pics or stand at end of runways etc. The response was pretty much thumb in your nose by some togs and others as the aircraft were landing at commercial, civil airports (Lanseria Joburg and Cape Town International) bar one (Waterkloof AFB) With so much military hardware on open display how can anyone not take a pic of such a big event...

YW Denise. Some stunners there. Well let's hope AF1 comes back to these shores in my lifetime again :)
