Hi guys.

I just updated my website. It would be priceless to get some feedback from you.

Slick and simple, the way I like things, well done

I am certainly not a website expert, but here are a few thoughts:

1) The "get a free Wix page" ads really jump out at you on the top and the bottom of the landing page.
2) The slide show on the front page has 12 photos. That seems like a lot to me. They are all great pictures, so I can see why you left them, but I think you might want fewer in the opener and maybe more on other pages. I think it is good to urge people to explore more of the site if possible and a tease on page one with a promise of more is one way to accomplish that. There should not be dupes in the different folders between one another or between the home page and the sub pages. I love that little rodent in the purple ball, but he is in the opener and the animals section. I would not duplicate. I notice the elephant is also in the animals and the duos section.
3) I suggest you try consolidate to fewer categories along the bottom. I suggest HOME, ANIMALS, CONCEPTUAL, NATURE, SPORTS, ABOUT, and CONTACT because:
a) I am not sure what "duos" means as a category, so I'd nuke it.
b) I'm not a fan of the word "emotive" as a category, so I'd rename to conceptual.
c) There are only three "food" pics and only one "Places" pic, so I'd nuke those categories and hope to find a home for the pics elsewhere.
d) There is a lot of "nature" in "Iceland" category, so I'd make it all nature.
e) It would be great to have all the links on the bottom of the page without the pulldown and I think the "about" and "contact" pages should be easy to find from the landing page.

I hope you don't mind, but I also took a stab at shortening your "about" verbiage. Here is my chop at it:

"My name is Robert Marvin Gislason and I am a photographer. I am also a software engineer and a computer geek, but photography holds my heart.

"I have been seriously pursuing my passion for photos since early 2005. Although my first camera was a Sony PS50, most of the pictures on this site were taken with a Canon 350D. The Canon 7D is now my go-to camera of choice because of the incredible quality it delivers.

"From thousands of pictures in my extended portfolio, I have selected a few favorites to display here. I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed taking them. If you would like a print of anything you see, please contact me at ...

"Thank you for visiting!

Question : If you own your own domain name (robbinn.com) why are you using WiX (and having to put up with their ads)?

Hi Jadin. I had my own site for awhile but stumbled onto Wix. I liked their design better. I could do it my self but I dont have the time, and why re-invent the wheel.
I am trying out their services and so far it looks good. I am thinking about upgrading to get rid of the ads.
