so bought a 5dmkii and been building up the bits for it, bg-e6 and 4 batteries etc but in need of some new cf cards i have 2x4gb, 1x8gb, 1x16gb all sandisk from my local camera shop

they want £150 for a 32gb one seems steep

they're are non branded ones on ebay for much cheaper anyone used them?

You take what you get with the "mystery" brands.

Most likely, they will have slow R/W speeds. When shooting, that means if you shoot many shots in succession, you'll fill your camera's buffer faster and it will be slower to empty.

I've purchased some from amazon branded transcend they are actually really good especially considering the price point. Had no problems and shot over 5000 images now - cant find any fault with them as yet whatsoever. R/W speeds seem fine too easily handled the small amount of HD vid I've shot.

Try Premier Ink they seem to be cheaper than most.

I'm downloading photos off a 32GB 400X Transcend card purchased from Amazon as we speak. It's the best name brand deal out there.

Never had a problem with that brand. Although 32GB is overkill unless you're shooting video or you're a machine gunner on speed.

Oh, I forgot you're only shooting with a 21MP camera. ;-P Would this be a bad time to note that you can get a refurb 5DII directly from Canon for $1400?

LOL, and I just bought a nice used 5D Classic for $700 with the battery grip. :)

ETA: 4GB seems to be enough for me. ;)

It depends. Would it be a bad time to mention you spent $2,000 for 1.3 MP? Does it come with a super model's likeness etched in the sensor? :P

Wow that's probably around 1,500 to 2000 photos. I think the most I've ever shot in one day was 400-500 photos, which was probably a wedding or corporate event. My personal work rarely approaches 200 in one sitting although I'm pretty sure there was a water challenge where I took a little more than that.

I knew I should have added "and those who are too lazy to empty their cards" to the end of my original post. :P
