My "song title" entry .stairway to heaven got an honorable score and ranking this week but atypically got as many high scores than low ones (29 from 1 to 3 and 34 from 8 to 10). The type of scoring that a picture involving nudity usually gets. Comments on it boiled down to “nice castle, but where is the stairway?” In other words “I really don’t get it?” Perhaps, knowing that the “castle” is in fact a cathedral might have helped a little, I hope. Place of worship – high construction to meet the skies - lifting of souls – redemption – access to heaven, was this too far fetched? In fact, for the less symbol-driven of you, there is a staircase (highest tower on the left). Went up there once, it’s a hell of a staircase.

not too bad I liked the your image--I am not stickler with those do not meet the challenge people--I like images and they like concepts--at leasted you got one less 1 than I did

I think your photo suffered like a number of them do here for a simple reason - it should be studied in full size for more than 15 sec. Then, one sees the crosses and stained glass - not generally found on a castle, and generally found on churches and cathedrals. Once the association with a church is made, then the association with heaven follows.
BTW, very nice photo, and good choice of b&w.

| I had no problem recognizing it as a cathedral or abbey or something. A defensive castle wouldn't survive long with all those skinny rooftops...even "protected" by the crosses on each one. |

I feel that I can give an honest say in this thread since I did not vote in this challenge. It was a little confusing for me with the picture and the title. The picture is great.
