I'm confused - now, although this is a normal state of being for me, this has me stumped.
My autumn entry finished (from memory) with a hundred and forty something votes (I think 148?) and at waaaay less than a tiny violin (5.8 something low).
Now it's got 136 votes and is over 6.
???
Anyone know what happened? |

Some people don't vote on 20% of the images so those votes won't count. Might have been this.

| sorry, I meant *after rollover had finished* it had 148ish votes and sub 6 score. Now has 136 & 6+. |

| You're seeing the effect of a ring of buddy voters who were banned/DQed and had their votes tossed. |

Was about to type this when rollover happened. Check the DQ's at the end of the challenge

Yes I noticed it straight away, the suss votes.
My score went from 6.08 to 6.26, wow big change, I suppose so did e.one else's. |

| I remember seeing that 3rd place ribboned on a 6.5 thought that was too low, now look at the score.............wow what a change 6.9398, goes to show how low they voted on it. |

rekon she was not the only one dishing out very low votes, got 12 1s & 2s on this one, Did not think it was that bad

| If you actually won a ribbon in this fashion how could you ever be proud of it? What a stupid and petty thing to do. If I ever win a ribbon I want it to be on my merits, fair and square. |

so what is the point in cheating? you dont win anything physical and its cheapens what the ribbons ultimately represent.

As long as there is a metric to measure two values, you can guarantee someone is going to game the system. It happens everywhere for everything. Maybe I'm simply being extremely cynical, I don't know, but my experience in everything has pointed in that direction. I have very little faith in people when it comes time to playing fair.
