Hey all...thought I would throw in here and say I just joined, and really looking forward to being part of the community.

My name is Christopher Payne (Chris is fine), and I'm a professional artist and amateur photographer out of the San Diego, California area. I work in the insurance industry to make sure I don't starve in between art jobs...LOL! I mostly enjoy bird photography, but enjoy almost any chance to bring my camera along almost anywhere to find interesting shots. I'm 40, and my other major passion in life is Iron Maiden...the greatest band to ever grace this planet. I literally travel all over to see them, including all over the USA, Canada, Mexico, and England....so far!

Anyway....couple website links for anyone who might be interested...

Photography: christopherpayne.zenfolio.com (I am behind on uploading a couple of recent outtings on here)

Artwork/Photography: khan71.deviantart.com

Anyway...again...great to be here...already met a couple nice folks in another thread!

Thanks for the welcome everyone!

Now...if I could just find out this week why the heck CPP X6 keeps stripping away my EXIF information, I will be a happy man.

My son once had a fight with Bruce Dickinson's son. Well, it wasn't much of a fight really. They were both about the same age, 4ish, and were playing in a playground when they got in each others way on the top of a climbing frame and started squabbling. Myself and Bruce had to step in and do the whole 'sharing' talk that fathers do. This was back in the mid 90's when i lived in Chiswick in London. He's a lovely bloke. Bought me a pint of bitter in the local pub once and we chatted about his writing.

The Ottawa Citizen ran a front-page image of the (then) prime minister of canada Pierre Trudeau breaking up a schoolyard fight between his son and some other kid. That image has always stayed with me, perhaps it was my first realization that famous people do the same crap as the rest of us nobodies.

Welcome to the show...the 'meat' reference reminded me of Neuromancer by William Gibson...thanks

That's awesome!

My greatest Maiden experience ever was on the 2009 Somewhere Back In Time Tour, where they brought back the stage setup from the Powerslave tour, with the mummy Eddie and everything. I got to go upstage 3 times and stand next to Steve Harris, and sing the backing vocals with him and a bunch of others, into his mic during the song Heaven Can Wait. It was easily one of the top 5 moments of my entire life that first time up there!
