I'll bet it was an accident; they've been running so many open, advanced challenges lately. Langdon probably thought this was one but hit the wrong button...

Challenges are fairly often posted a few hours late -- Langdon either forgot to post it or pre-program it (I don't know if it's automated or not).
This is not that unusual ... there will just be a few fewer hours to contemplate and complete the challenge, but there will be an Open challenge. There is already an "extra" challenge for "Holiday Decorations" which is your basic PC/non-sectarian way of announcing a "Christmas" challenge ... |
