I am absolutely wrapped that I took Blue with my Edgar Allan Poe challenge but what I am more amazed about is that both Gyaban and I both got PB's and both got 8+ scores with our images. We both have 45 ribbons each, so that is unbelievable that with 90 images between us we both PBéd and got 8+ scores in the same challenge. Job well done Gyaban!!! There are only 4 x red ribbon images in the 8's on DPC.

Thanks Judi! Not winning with 8.16 was a bit surprising I must say, but well I'm getting used to such surprises by now ;-)

Congratulations again on your fantastic achievement, and see you at the next expert editing challenge!

ETA: I got a nice consolation prize ;-)

What chance do the rest of us stand when you two take the top two places with 8+ scores!

Well done both, incredible images. I'll be watching the ribbon race with interest ;)

These works are great pieces of digital art. Congratulations. I would expect the scores of expert challenges would be higher than advanced challenges, and advanced higher than basic challenges.

I am not trying to take away from the artistic beauty of the works. I'm just saying that it will score better than pure or moderately pure photography.

Getting a sore neck just from looking up to you two - both as personalities, great photographers and PS wizards! Huge congrats to you both!

Congratulations to both of you, that is a wonderful achievement!! And really, to everyone who entered the challenge, I thought it was an outstanding collection of entries. Probably the challenge I enjoyed voting on more than I have in a long time.

Bravo!!

I think it is quite interesting that all of last year there was only one score of 8 (not even 8+, just flat 8) but this year there have already been eight of those. I think the increased number of expert challenges has been the biggest reason for it.

I know some love these expert challenges and some who are purists not so much. I myself fall somewhere in between. I don't mind them say 4 or 5 times a year.

ETA: Even without the expert challenges, there would still be four 8+ scores so far this year which is still impressive.

@ Judi - don't worry mate, I won't let you get a big head from comments like these - there is a come-back-down-to-earth thud in your near future!!

Psst... don't tell anyone... but I'm awfully proud of her :)

I DID warn you there was a come-back-down-to-earth thud in your future!!

...and yes folks, I really did hit her with my car. Let that be a warning to you - don't play chicken unless you're prepared to accept the consequences!

(Sorry again Judi)

Not quite! There is a bug on the ribbons ranking page where it does not take away the ribbon count or prevent the ribbon count from going up even after a ribbon winning image has been DQ'ed. Hopefully it is something that langdon will fix. There are all kinds of incorrect ribbon counts on ribbons ranking page.

Ok so does that mean you can all take a break for a while and let us plebs maybe win a ribbon or 2...lol

I manually counted the ribbons on our profile page. I didn't rely on the statistics page.
