I'm so excited!
I'm hoping that it will be the new D800 with a high resolution sensor so I can get it for Christmas.
What do you expect?

Aaarrgghhh! Just when I was thinking about buying a D300s as a backup and a good choice for my sports photography, I now have to be tempted by whatever extraordinary offering Nikon will be releasing to replace my D700.
I've got so many other things I have been planning to spend money on, now Nikon wants to further complicate the nonstop debate raging in my head! |

I know... its a pain... take te pain away. .. give me the new camera :)
Is the excuse I use for my wife :)

| Hoping for the D700 replacement but rumors seem to think it will be a Coolpix and mirrorless announcement on the 24th. I already have a few FF lenses and want the camera to match. |

I really hope that it will be a FF high megapixel camera. It would be a good tool for stock.

I'll have a D700 with less than 5500 clicks to sell by Christmas.

I'll keep my D700. It's a fantastic camera.
Even yesterday I shoot a bullfight at night @ iso 6400 with great results.
I'll sell my old D300 that is my backup camera right now.

I seem to be "just behind the latest/greatest camera" so I'll sell my D700 to get the 800 for Christmas if the price and features are to my liking.
Can you post a few of those Bull fighting pics? I've never used 6400 and I'd like to see "real" results.

My D3s and D3 will be with me for a long time. 12MP amazing high ISO and dynamic range, and AF that just plain rocks. I'm set for a while.

According to Nikon Rumors the D4 is slated to appear in 2012.
Probably December 21, 2012.

LOL, same as Canon. It's apparent that the product life cycle in SLRs is increasing, which makes sense. As the market matures, the rate of change is slower, and they want to get more for their development investment. |
