May be spending a week in Fun Valley at the end of July. Anyone familiar with the area? Photo ops? Must see sights?

I'm not familiar with this particular resort, but looks like you will be about 50 miles west of Alamosa and a couple of hours east of Durango and pretty much into the mountains. There should be lots of wildflowers blooming at that time of year. Wolf Creek Pass offers some amazing views. Mancos and Mesa Verde are a couple of hours west of Durango. Mesa Verde is definitely worth the extra trip if you have the time. Great Sand Dunes National Park is a little north of Alamosa. It might be best to visit early morning when it's still a bit cool, because it will be very hot there during the afternoon (and there are great shadows on the dunes in the early morning).

Even if you don't have time to travel far, you will be staying in a beautiful part of the Rockies. Enjoy the mountains, the fresh air, and the wildlife. You are going to have a great time!!

Thank you. This is a pleasure trip so I am pretty much open to anything. Will see what I can get in.

If you have time, head up to Gunnison and see Black Canyon. The drive along Blue Mesa is beautiful.
