And we're off to the races again!

Updated the Unofficial Points Race 2011 for the month of January, with the last challenge entered being the January Free Study.

If you don't see the up to date version, hit the "refresh" button.

And for a little extra motivation, here is what is up for grabs this year!

For those who don't know, the unofficial DPC Points Race keeps track of all the top 10 entries for the entire year. You do not need contact me, or opt in to be on the list. All you have to do is finish in the top 10 of any challenge.

I will be updating at the end of each month. If you find any errors with your statistics, please pm me, and will make corrections.

Sure.

1st place = 10 pts
2nd place = 9 pts
3rd place = 8 pts
4th place = 7 pts
5th place = 6 pts
6th place = 5 pts
7th place = 4 pts
8th place = 3 pts
9th place = 2 pts
10th place = 1 pt

A very logical scoring system. Just curious....as the scoring system stands a 1st place is equivalent to two 6th places.

Subjectively speaking, would you say a 1st is truly equivalent to two 6th places, or infinitely more challenging/easier to attain than successive 6's?

I'm not sure it's possible to calculate how much more difficult it is to win one position over the other. There are too many factors such as the skill level of the photographer, how many entries are in a given challenge, and the quality of photographs submitted by other people.

Well i check your 2011 scores your averaging over 6+ except for 2 challenges i think you,ll do very well this year
