Look through your Favorite DPC photographs. Any of them have only YOU choose it as a fave? Explain yourself.
Maybe you'll convince others to fave it … hence becoming a liar ;)

Here's my selection:

Not only does this have no faves, it also scored relatively low.

To me, this represents a snap shot taken to the next level. Popcorn, a food eaten when we are already foll - a relatively innocent indulgence enjoyed very often while relaxing. Easily symbolic. But it it gone. An afterthought. A memory.

I find it pleasant and a tad humorous to view. I have yet to see another popcorn bag photographed in such a way. A haphazard moment, captured by a camera. Yet does it remind me of a road? A path of teeny memories lost and forgotten? Kind of. I also like the low-key nature of it - there wasn't a ton of photoshop or sharpening involved. It's just an image - inside a disposable light box - a photographic tool? that humans toss out every day.

This is one of my favorites of which I am the only one.

It scored above 6, but should have been higher IMO.

And... its by tate :)

ETA: Here is another, by Bear_Music this time.

Why is this in my favourites?

I like the imagary that this photo puts into the viewers mind. The title 'Death of a pigeon', and all the flattened grass suggest that there was a drawn out struggle, and that the pigeon didnt go easy. Very few shots are able to capture that action without being gratuitous or violent. Its one of my favs because it is unique, and powerful.

Here is one

Not sure why it only managed 1 fav as it finished top 10, maybe it is because of the challenge. I love the look and the darkness to this shot. Almost gothic like but not.

This got crushed in the Ansel Challenge. I love how the texture of the trees fade off into the distance and the subtle changes in lightness of the hills as you move up the picture. I love how the sky and the hills kind of blend together...

I've got lots of them in my favorites, but I seek out ones with no favorites to see if I can find gems.

One of my favorites. Maria's eyes in this one by ytshuva speak to me.

I absolute love the colors, the simplicity and the textures in this shot. It got 4 10's during voting, but I'm the only fave.
There are actually quite a few where I'm the only fave, lol.

I have several that I am the only person that Faved it, but by far this one should be seen way more.

It wasn't a challenge entry (to my knowledge).

I love everything about this image. It brought back some pretty powerful and emotional memories for me. I stumbled across it when I was perusing various photographers. Take a gander...you won't be disappointed.

Carrie,

Go look at your images that you have as favorites. In parenthesis beside the title, there is a number. That number is how many people have it as a favorite. If there is only a 1, then you are the only one. Post that image here and tell why you like it so much.

Make sense?

vitaminb beat me too it!

I also really like this one by Jutilda. Somehow the processing comes across that there's pain behind the child's eyes.

I don't believe this was a challenge entry

Come on, people. I know it's not the best photo in the world, but how can it not make you laugh out loud? That alone is worth a fav!

A recent one that makes me laugh every time I see it.

Can you do that for the one of mine you posted? I've always wondered what drew you to favorite it, you never did comment on it...

There was nothing grabbing about this picture when I first opened it to vote on it in Bokeh challenge, then I noticed the 3D effect, the leaf stands out so starkly. It just tickled my fancy:)

Such simplicity in this shot with nice contrast and color combination.

Because I love a good portrait.

A big tennis fan and used to play when I wasn't so lazy, so this grabbed me. I could feel the moment about to happen and the intensity about to explode by this quiet shot.

I think freakin_hilarious is a genius, and I just seem to love his fish shots. I really loved the out of the box framing on this one, the tones, the unusual point of view.

when i saw this during voting it grabbed me as the perfect definition of zen. so calm peaceful and harmonious. top ten finish yet i'm the only one who faved it (and my first ever fave i might add)

In the recent balloon challenge, I figured this would be in the top 3. The colors and composition are absolutely divine. I feel as if I'm floating underwater - with silence all around me. It was those beautiful blues and the mood that captured my fave. :) And it doesn't hurt that it's from the talented ursula, although I faved it during the voting process...

I love the composition and textures

I like that the only color is the flowers. Very simple and effective.

The opposite of the one above! Also simple and effective. I like the color and the emotional feeling.

I love the way the exotic flower pops against the b&w background.

I'm a violin player, and it has perfect detail (including the rosin dust) and depth of field.

She's so classy... not. Great pinhole shot, with a pretty crazy perspective. ETA: Just faved by pointandshoot; so doesn't really belong in this thread anymore.

Very nostalgic, in both the colors and the softness. Also a pinhole.

How can you NOT add this as a fave? Freakin' insane! ETA: Just faved by coryboehne and JokersSoul, so it's technically off the list as well.

Wow.. Cool idea- here are my faves that need more attention:

<-- I simply can't believe I'm the only one who loves this amazing shot...

A recent favorite from Prash - Why? Excellent single shot fake HDR... Very superb detail and tonality/range/color/sat

<-- See --^

I love this image because it was a super clean image that has a super cool, calming tone and very nice foreground detail.. Not to mention the wonder way it meets the challenge...

<-- Just a very nice macro of a green on green subject, probably something most people would ignore, but it made a lovely, lovely image...
