Thru a discussion with another member (if they would like to identify themselves ill let them decide,

We thought it might be benefical to see voting broken down into paid/non paid members.

Just a suggestion....

Ohhhhh......

You've opened up another can of worms voting thread.

I don't see any profit in doing that publicly. The admins can abstract that information if they want to, but if it were available to all it would just fuel further pointless debate, IMO.

Can of worms is probably more like it. I mean no offense to anyone.

Why would it be beneficial? What is the gain?

ok at the risk of causing a riot (Im so not trying to cause a fight) everyone has been griping A LOT about the voting lately, and several people have suggested things like banned members coming back in and haunting the place, revenege, people wanting to boost their own scores, people really not wanting to get involved but wanting ruin the experience for others, etc. and some seem to think (based on discussions around boards etc.) that a lot of this is some of the registared members only... (not all registared members are bad I am by no means saying that) but I thought it would be a way to look into this theory.

It's not our job, nor is it our place, to look into these theories, as you put it. That's being done on a daily basis by admin at levels we can't even begin to approach. All this kind of talk does is foment unrest and conspiracy theories within the community.

The objectivity of the voting requires anonymity.
We already have enough accusations of trolls and hating of anything that isn't rainbows and smiles without a detailed description of why.

Really it boils down to you being a new member and not knowing how often this issue comes up. Twice a month maybe, there is some mention of a new stat or way to seed out the trolls, but it's all been through and discussed and flogged and everything so many times, and the answer is that there's a reason why we have things how they are. This isn't necessarily always the case, but with the voting, there isn't much room for improvement, and there's a good deal that goes on with vote analysis that non-SC people are not aware of (with good reason).
People are frustrated by seeing the same things come up.

What's in the water today?

She asked a question, and wow! I did not realize that you had to be here a certain amount of time to ask?

We have statistics about participants vs non=participants, we have commenters statistics, we even have votes cast vs votes received. I don't see member vs non-member as such a stretch. I certainly would not see it as worthy of comparing her to Rose. But if it helps to have some membership time behind you to ask, then fine I ask.

Had you checked the OP's other threads, I would think you will find her to be very interested in improving her skills and being a positive addition to this site, and that this was an honest question.

I'd love to know who the 'long term member' was who encouraged her to post this... :)

Yeah, Kinda makes you wonder.

Guys, this strikes me as somewhat out of order. If anyone has suspicions that any member is working outside the rules of DPC, be it voting infringements, multiple accounts, or new accounts for banned members they should take those to the SC/admin. This seems like trial by mob rule.
