This is for those Canadians that didn't make the cut for The Loonies.

And this is our final roster! I'm sorry to everyone that didn't make it, I hope that if you're still wanting in the DPL that you get picked up. The teams seem to still be going nutso right now :D

WELCOME TO TEAM TOONIES!!

This is the official welcome for Team Toonies, as we've just finalized it in the #35 spot! (yay!)

I'd like to welcome everyone that has made it onto the team so far. We still have 3 spots left open, so those of you with invites out there better hurry up and accept :D (If your invite doesn't work, PM ME!).

So here's our mission statement for the time being:

The idea for Team Toonies is for the Canadian people of DPC, that weren't quick enough to get on The Loonies, to have fun and take part in a fun competition in order to get back to the basics of photography and learn to not worry about scores so much once again. That's not to say we shouldn't TRY, but what we shouldn't do is feel bad if we don't score well, or if we don't get into every challenge.

For this team, all I ask is that you do your best, that you don't be too afraid to ask questions, that you keep the atmosphere light and hearty, and never, ever, ever feel bad or not enter if you can, because you don't think you'll score well. Enter anyway!

We're here to help each other, if we can, and we're here to pat each other on the back and tell each other how fantastic we actually are. (or aren't. lol).

We're Team Toonies. We're Canada. Say sorry all the time, eat a lot of donuts, roll up a lot of rims, play a lot of hockey, say "eh" whenever you can, and above all go to a walk-in clinic because you have a slight cough :D

Also, we've adopted an American. Please welcome him warmly, as he's promised to act as Canadian as he possibly can. Welcome to the Frozen North Mr. tvsometime!

Here's to the DPL! Start posting! Introduce yourselves. Let's get to know each other.

Here are a few names I'd recommend looking into based on the fact the enter challenges on a somewhat regular basis.

He's apparently accepted another invite.

I just need TWO more of the invites to accept so we can get this team in under the 36 mark! Come on people! :D If you want in on this, PM me, I'll get the invite to you.

First answer, first serve.

Maybe one of the other teams in 'limbo' might want to combine with the Twoonies. If they do that soon, you will be virtually guaranteed a spot in the 36.

Wait, he is? I looked at his profile but couldn't see anything about canadian on there, when I saw him post somewhere else. Heck!

EDIT: Good Pete I'm blind.

Just sent you a PM

I've just updated the welcome notice. I'll be sending all the established team-members a PM in the next day or so to welcome them and get time on here to introduce themselves and so we can get some comraderie going here.

I'm excited for this to begin. Let's hear it for Pro-Active!

Thanks for the welcome. I'm looking forward to providing some New York attitude (actually New Jersey but I still commute to NYC). So I will most likely be submitting photos of: a. Home, b. Hoboken Train Station, or c. downtown NYC. :-)
My workstation overlooks the World Trade Center site so I regularly shoot out the window recording its progress. I love street photography and haven't the time or equipment for studio shots. My wife and I frequently go for walks in the city discovering new subjects.

I'm so old that I spent 16 mos in Viet Nam. Which leads to a Canada story. On a trip to Calgary, I was talking to my wife about being in Viet Nam and a young store clerk said: "thanks for your service." I asked her where she was from and she said Vancouver - all her life. I told her that no one in the US had ever said that to me. I think it says something noble about Canadians.

Very happy to be aboard and having the opportunity to get to know some neighbors up north.

On another note, Team Toonies needs a logo. Anyone have any skills in this area that could help out there?

*EDIT* I have a temporary one up. I'd like to get some others from people though :D

*EDIT2* Changed the name to Toonies. The more I looked at "twoonies" the more I hated it.

Hey everyone!

I'm late to the game because I've been away from dpchallenge for a while.

I'm a performing musician as well as a photographer (Neither is my paying gig!), and music has been dominating my life for the past year or so because I've been getting a new band off of the ground (Check us out at www.ripley29.com! I'm the male singer). I've still been doing photography, but more for little jobs here and there, and of course for fun.

I've never been one to try and shoot for high scores. I'm also not one to shoot 'cliched' dpchallenge shots because I know that it will get me a ribbon. I ALWAYS try and take unique shots... Sometimes it pays off, sometimes it crashes and burns. But IMHO, that's the way that art should work.

I've been away for a long time, but I'm looking forward to a kick in the butt to get me shooting again!

Go Team Toonies!

Hello everyone, glad to be on the team.

I was not very active on the site lately, but this will be a good occasion to take more pictures.

This team is pretty much built around that very concept Alain :D We have a rather large number of people here that haven't been active in some time. Along with a few newbies. Glad to have you aboard.

So is everyone excited!?!?

Once our private team thread is created, I'll send out PMs to everyone to get on and officially get this thing started. Introductions, chatter, slaps on the back, smack talk about the other teams (good naturedly), let's try our best to be active and build a comraderie here!

I'll also try and keep abreast of everything that is going on rules/mechanism wise so that I can field any questions, but I don't want to be seen as like, the Numero Uno or anything here. Any and all help/contribution/etc. for this team is welcome and desired! You want to make us some jerseys?! Do it! You want to get us a better logo!? Do it! You want to create a cheer for us every time we beat some insanely higher ranked team? DO it! hehe.

Go Team Toonies!
