Only one other image in my portfolio is that high, seems odd that this one has been viewed so many times after the challenge. Usually I see maybe 200+ at the most.

That happened to a couple of my images also. Here's one with over 18,000 views:

Sometimes links to our images are posted on other sites. One of them is Stumbleupon or something like that.

It's a great picture. But I was wondering, I noticed that you removed the powerline, is that legal or am I just out of it this morning? I can never remember what was settled on the rules for stuff like that.

how about all the extra work that was done in the sky then? Does that fall into the cloning rule? Just checking so i know what to do when i want to remove stuff :)

same rule...from advanced rules;
you may, clone out incidental power lines, twigs, dust specks, stray hairs, and similar minor imperfections within any capture used.

The capture was actually HDR using five images if I remember.

Yeah, but there's whole sections of clouds removed and added...the sky looks nothing like the original.

Of course then there is the matter of what are and are not "incidental power lines" :P

I probably should have been clearer when I wrote my first question. It is more about the area above and to the slight left of the building. I can understand doing your work in the area where the powerline was...

In this example it's not even a remote question about the power line being "incidental"...no problem whatsoever.

The powerline impacted very little sky at all. In the original you can see the powerline is below and into the tree branches.

I think the cloud difference is due to the adjustments done in HDR. Not sure how to explain the difference otherwise. I did many tonal adjustments to bring out the "oil painting" feel which probably caused further changes to the sky.

Nods, I was just poking fun at Shannon and myself really.

I'm guessing one of the obvious ways of getting a large number of views is to have the Hidden Content label. I've been here 13 months and the second highest viewed of all my entries was last weeks Human Parts entry with 660 (my highest is my highest rated with 910)...

which means that in a week it has been viewed on average three times more than all of my other photos, bar one, have done in a year. It's not even a high scoring image.

Oh, yes. I'm just the same but it's quite funny when it happens.

No idea. I didn't put it there. I've noticed quite a few images that were hidden content which i can't work out why.

ETA.. I just looked and it seems i must have clicked the 'nude' gallery box when submitting for some reason. Not sure why i did that as i wouldn't call it a nude but i guess thats the reason the 'HC' cover comes up.

When a photographer assigns an image to the Nude gallery, it is flagged Hidden Due to Content. The flag remains even if the image is later reassigned by the photographer to a new, additional, or different gallery.

all of my other shots average around 200 views... Now in all fairness, this is by far my best shot and highest score... but the view count still seems skewed to me...

I find that top 10s usually get a lot of views.
