Post your outtakes from the Main Street challenge here.

I didn't enter this challenge because I thought my potential entry did not look "Main Streety" enough, even though it IS Main Street. After seeing how my graffiti entry did, I should have entered this.

I almost entered this challenge with one of these two, now I am glad I did not fall for the bling!

Here's my outtake:

I entered this in Graffiti (14th place).

Please help settle a discussion. Scarbrd says the Main St. shot was the better image and would've scored/placed higher than the Graffiti shot. I disagree and, obviously, was more confident in the Graffiti image.

Thoughts?

I agree with Scarbrd. ;-)

I couldn't (1) straighten the street sign and (2) mask it off and make it pop. I wanted to (3) get rid of the lamppost shadow and also (4) add a vignette. Plus my other "ace" reviewer said the Main St. shot was "too busy".

Despite everything you thought you needed to do....I agree with Scarbrd. That Main St. shot is georgeous. IMHO the graffiti shot is bland in comparison to the Main St. shot.

Well I think that given the field in Main Street it probably would have scored higher. Having said that, I only think that because of where I'd put it in the final standings and that the quality of entries drops of quite quickly in that challenge (nobody take offence at that please).

I do think that this Main Street candidate is too busy (you're other "ace" reviewer must be someone worth listening too - did you show him your graffiti shot too?).

On a shot by shot comparison I think they are in similar ballparks. That is, if you entered them both in a Free Study they'd score similarly. Both also meet the respective challenges at about the same level.

Thanks Luci11e
I guess I couldn't see beyond the perceived flaws.
