| What would be a good enough reason to not buy a grey market Canon Speedlite 580EX II for $294 when the USA model sells for $429. I really need a new flash but can't afford the USA model but can scrape up enough for the grey market. |

| warranty ... if something goes wrong with it, you're SOL! With the USA model, you're covered for the life of the warranty ... |

| Gray market prices are usually just a few dollars less...that large of a discount sounds rather suspect. |

| Difference would probably be the warranty. Canon may or may not choose to honor "grey" market warranties. But most problems usually show up in the early use period which would mean you will probably be covered by the reputable store's policy for exchanges. Check with them. |

I agree, here. Normally grey market is only about $30 difference |
